With their two boys in school, Tina went to work for Dean, St Mary's as a receptionist and worked her way up to supervior.
After 16 years at Dean, St Mary's, Tina left her job so her and her husband Scott could establish a dog kennel in Evansville, WI. At the kennel, Tina assumed the role of the primary full-time employee, taking on a substantial portion of the responsibilities. Her tasks included the day-to-day operations of the kennel, which involved tasks such as admitting dogs, procuring kennel supplies, tending to unwell dogs, interacting with dog owners, maintaining records, managing taxes, and engaging directly with the dogs.
Within her responsibilities, Tina also played an active role in the training and development of dogs involved in various training programs. Additionally, managing schedules made up a significant portion of Tina's job.
While overseeing the kennel, Tina and Scott ventured into training dogs to detect bed bugs. Tina actively participated in the training these dogs. As demand grew, Tina expanded her efforts to include the handling of dogs trained specifically for bed bug detection. Over the course of her time as a handler, Tina conducted searches across many settings, including properties, vehicles, luggage, and even a helicopter.
In her role as a handler, Tina's involvement extended beyond the practical aspects. She also undertook logistical responsibilities for the company. These logistical duties encompassed tasks such as report writing, call scheduling, monitoring veterinary visits, managing tax matters, overseeing sponsorships, and handling certifications.
Tina continues to excel in her role as a handler, expanding her understanding of bed bug detection with each passing day. Throughout her marriage, Tina has demonstrated a deep commitment to understanding and mastering the world of professional working dogs. Her husband Scott, who has over 31 years of experience as a professional dog handler and trainer, has played a pivotal role in nurturing Tina's growth in this field.
Tina's dedication as a student of working dogs shows through every time she embarks on a mission to assist individuals by pinpointing the presence of bed bugs in their homes or vehicles.
